Westward Ho! is a coastal resort in Devon. The town was named after the novel by Charles Kingsley and is the only recognised place to have an exclamation mark included in its title. Westward Ho! is a tourist spot with many holiday camps but over the years some of these have been demolished and made way for houses and apartments. There are still two camps remaining though. The town offers great surfing and has a long sandy beach which is kept clean. It is also home to the oldest golf course in England and Wales being the Royal North Devon Golf Club.
