Property for sale in Seaton, Devon.
The seaside town of Seaton is on the south coast of Devon and sits on what is referred to as the Jurassic Coast. The River Axe runs along one side of the Seaton which looks out over Lyme Bay. The town has cliffs on each side which protect the harbour below. Back in the victorian era Seaton was known as a holiday resort and had many camp sites. This is still going today and is one of the largest employers in the area.
The local beach is mainly shingle but the surrounding landscape has plenty of wildlife, woodlands, chalk grasslands and spring line mires.
The population of Seaton was just over 7k at the last count back in 2004 most of which are of the older generation. The local parish has about 3k properties.
Not far from Seaton is the town of Beer which has some excellent man made bat caves. Further along the coast is the sea side resort of Sidmouth and Exmouth.
The majority of properties in Seaton are priced at under £300k and the average price for a property for sale is £200k which was around the national average in early 2008. At the same time a one bedroom property for sale was about £120k.
