Kettering is positioned on the River Ise and is in the north part of Northamptonshire. Kettering is around 7 miles to the north of Wellingborough, 14 miles north east of Northampton and 10 miles north west of Rushden.

The town can trace its history back to Roman times. In 2003 the population was 86k. However this will increase in the near future due to the 13k new properties they plan to build in the next 15 years.

Property prices in Kettering increased during 2007 with the biggest increase being for apartments. Between January and August 2007 the price for some apartments for sale rose by as much as 27%.

Kettering is currently undergoing an urban regeneration project to refurbish the town. This will include art and sculptures, new shopping centres and see the town centre generally rejuvenated.
