Latest figures from Communities and Local Government show that, on average, UK property prices rose by 1.2% in April. This takes the average house price in the UK to £209,454.
The breakdown by country is as follows: England - £216,707; Scotland - £155,516; Wales - £162,170 and Northern Ireland - £228,208.
