Buy for Uni Mortgages Prove Popular

Bath Building Society has had a huge response to its Buy-for-University mortgage. Similar mortgages are taking off in other areas of the country as parents see them as a more attractive investment than a traditional buy-to-let.

Buy-for-Uni mortgages allow the student to apply for up to 100% loan-to-valuation on a property of up to four bedrooms. The rooms can then be let out to up to 3 fellow students to help pay the monthly repayments.

Bath Building Society comments that the students themselves are becoming increasingly involved in the set up of these mortgages, with Mum and Dad only becoming involved in the latter stages.
