A recent study conducted by Nationwide revealed that around 10% of UK homeowners already own a second home and a further 14% are interested. The report goes on to say that this would mean potentially 1 in 4 people would own a second property.
The study revealed that buy to let was the main reason at 55%, personal use at 33% and 7% would invest in a holiday home to rent out.
Some of the most popular places for a second property was the South East such as Hampshire or Kent and the South West of England in Devon and Cornwall.
