Student Investors

A leading mortgage company has revealed that around 66k students are thinking of buying their own property rather than renting. Part of this figure included parents buying as an investment for their children to live in whilst at university. The report also stated that around 44k student would buy with friends in order to get on the property ladder.

There are around 88k students who already reside in their own property. The growing buy to let market around universities is creating demand for terraced properties and those that can be split into bedsits. Investors need to make sure that they can keep up with the payments though as there is a lot of down time with students especially during the summer.
