Mortgage Cuts

Some mortgage firms have not passed any reductions on to their customers who are on variable rate deals. Out of the 103 mortgage lenders 18 have not yet passed on the 0.25% reduction and a further 16 have reduced interest rates but not by the full amount.

Egg and Northern Rock have only reduced by 0.15% and Scottish Widows and Alliance & Leicester by 0.2%.

The average mortgage has risen by around £135 over 2007.
