New Build

The government are trying to provide around 3 million new homes by 2020. This would include more homes for families and homes in high demand areas. They are also planning for long term build as well.

The decline in the property market may have an impact on this build. The Royal Institute of Charted Surveyors have reported that demand dropped by 1% in the last quarter of 2007. House prices have also dropped for the third month running.
